Pattie Cortese’s priorities for the East Side Union High School District

  • Ensuring all students have the support and resources needed to succeed in distance learning during this COVID-19 outbreak
  • Making sure students, parents, staff and teachers all have a voice in the decisions that impact them
  • Expanding participation in the newly-formed, district-wide Student Governing Board
  • Encouraging all students to take at least one Advanced Placement class to increase “college-going mindset” and college acceptance rates
  • Creating an “early warning system” so that students get academic help before it’s too late
  • Expanding our social-emotional and mindfulness curriculum into all our schools to address the mental health and well – being needs of our students
  • Creating discipline policies that allow students to understand the impact of their choices and take positive actions to address the consequences
