Pattie Cortese’s priorities for the East Side Union High School District

• Encouraging all students to take at least one Advanced Placement class or college course with dual enrollment to increase “college-going mindset” and college acceptance rates
• Enhancing our “early warning system” so that students get academic help before it’s too late
• Expanding our social-emotional and mindfulness curriculum into all our schools to address the mental health and well-being needs of our students
• Creating discipline policies that allow students to understand the impact of their choices and take positive actions to address the consequences
• Making sure students, parents, staff and teachers all have a voice in the decisions that impact them
